Species Classification
In order to track and group the hundreds of thousands of species that live in the Setareh Galaxy, the CUPE has standardized a variety of ways to group species.
These include:
Taxonomic class is, in simple terms, what general animal/planet/mineral the species is descended from. Are they a type of bird or mammal? Or a type of cactus or fungi?
Sample Classes:
One way to accommodate a diverse amount of species is to build separate spaces and objects for those of different sizes. Restaurants need to have sufficiently-sized chairs and tableware, and ceilings need to be sufficiently high for larger access. The size chart below provides a rough guide for both accommodation and classification.
Size Classes:
1: Microscopic
2: Less than .5 inches in length or height
3: .5 to 2.9 inches
4: 3 inches to 11.9 inches
5: 1 to 1.9 feet
6: 2 to 2.9 feet
7: 3 to 3.9 feet
8: 4 to 4.9 feet
9: 5 to 5.9 feet
10: 6 to 6.9 feet
11: 7 to 7.9 feet
12: 8 to 9.9 feet
13: 10 to 14.9 feet
14: 15 to 24.9 feet
15: 25 to 34.9 feet
16: 35 to 44.9 feet
17: 45 to 54.9 feet
18: 55 to 74.9
19: 75 to 99 feet (example: Blue whale)
20: 100+ feet
Hemochrome (Blood color):
Throughout the galaxy, different species use different fluids to facilitate transport of nutrients and remove waste from their bodies. The color depends on several factors, such as body chemistry, the air the species breathes, and the size of the species. Sample Blood Colors:
- Sapience
- Place of Origin
- Taxonomic Class
- Size
- Hemochrome
