Reverence of Saints and Heroic Mortals

Throughout Variathios, paragons and great heroes have entered a certain level of religious importance to the common folk. While it has not reached the same level of veneration as it has in some places. In Londar such ideas have gained ground as actual religious dogma. In Vallonde it centers on ancestors as a point of wisdom and a place to owe piety towards. Through the rest of the continent It is not uncommon for small way shrines, small sections of some temples, or even in some rare cases for chapels to rise up referring to a saint or paragon as their patron saint.   The numbers of these individuals vary from place to place, and they could be in thousands at this point. However those which are truely remarkable and known far and wide number in less then a hundred.

Divine Origins

Revering individuals of note or of heroic stature is not unusual, however raising them up to quasi religious status seemed to occur during the war of the gods long ago and remained in the hearts and minds of individuals. During the heavenly struggles people looked to more grounded and relate-able figures to inspire hope in them.

Tenets of Faith

The general tenets of following or revering a saint or paragon vary depending on the individual. Generally most well known saints and paragons tend to align in more benevolent realms. However there are some paragons who accompany less savory sorts and still attract individuals attention.
