The Shifter

The being known as The Shifter. He is the God of the Moon and the God of Secrets. His name is Arcani and he has the ability to turn into whatever non-humanoid creature he sees, as long as he has seen it at least once. The more powerful the creature, however, the longer he needs to study it. Many of the people who are able to shift into animals revere The Shifter, especially the Lyca since Arcani is a Lyca himself. His original form is that of a wolf.

Not many know of The Shifter's human appearance as he is most well known for his appearance as a white wolf with pale lavender eyes and a black insignia on his shoulder. His fur itself glows under the moonlight and makes him look ethereal. His other forms are also equally recognizable since he tends to have white fur, feathers, or scales in whatever form he takes, thus it has come to be seeing a white animal is seen as good luck and lyca see it as their guardian god is watching over them.

As for Arcani's relationship with animals, due to his shifting being him as that species and not just copying the form of a creature, many animals recognize him as himself and have accepted him as their own. The Shifter is able to freely converse with animals and takes advantage of the fading line between dimensions to travel to other worlds. This is especially advantageous to him since his ability to shift into animals he sees is not limited to the creatures or beasts of his world.

In one of his journeys, he found a world of massive trees and equally massive animals. An animal in particular that caught his interest was an eagle with wings that spanned dozens of feet. He took a liking to the form as he flew around, unfortunately this also caught the attention of the female eagle that he had spotted originally. He swiftly had to leave that world after she began preening her feathers and trying to chase him down for a pairing.
