Suntaem
The founding document of the Order of the Sunkeepers is the Suntaem. It was written by The Radiant King, God of the Sun and God of Healing, who the Order of the Sunkeepers follow. The Suntaem states the core principles of the Order of the Sunkeepers, some of which would be: All are worthy to be healed. A life does not come with a price. Do not harm the innocent.
These particular principles represent the Order’s rule of healing all regardless of wealth or status and to not take payments for these services. The Order also is an upholder of justice in many places and will protect the weak and the innocent.
Unless one has directly committed a crime in front of a member of the Order, if there is a Sunbright Knight nearby, they typically arrest the related individuals then take them in for a hearing. If a crime has been committed in front of a member of the Order, action is taken immediately. Many criminals know that committing a crime in front of a member of the Order, especially in front of a Sunbright Knight can result in instant apprehension through whatever means necessary, which can be anything short of death since they will just heal the person afterwards. Depending on the severity of the crime, this can also end up in immediate execution.
The Suntaem also states that if a member of the Order harms the innocent, if they discriminate according to status or wealth, or if they take bribes, the member will be excommunicated. Being excommunicated also prevents the former member from receiving any services from the Order. The services do include healing and rations given to travelers as well as access to the libraries of the Order, which are said to be some of the most extensive libraries in the world, especially regarding healing.
If a member is excommunicated due to murder, they will have a bounty placed on their head and will be hunted by the Sunbright Knights. If the matter is severe enough, The Radiant King himself may step in to join the hunt. While The Radiant King is known to be benevolent, he is known to be just as merciless with some dark rumors floating around of him bringing criminals back from the dead just to torture them to death again.
