Stargle Tree Dria

The dria are known as the spirits of the world. The dria themselves are divided into two parts: the Dryads, who are more feminine, and the Drus, who are more masculine. A Dria’s true body is their tree. Once they are old enough, their spirit emerges from the tree and are able to walk among the other denizens of the world. Dria can freely change their form so it is quite easy for them to blend into wherever they go.

The only exception being a very rare type of Dria whose tree is that of the Stargle fruit tree. A stargle fruit is a pear shaped fruit with black leaves. The skin of the fruit itself is dark like the night sky and shimmers like it has stars. The fruit itself is full of celestial magic, which is the same magic as the world itself and the serpents who brought the world back to life. A stargle fruit seed only sprouts during an eclipse, and the same is the case for a stargle fruit dria. Because their sprouting relies on these celestial events, the stargle tree and the stargle dria are quite rare and tend to come in batches as the eclipse allows the seeds to sprout.

Once sprouted, the stargle trees grow quite quickly. They are easily recognizable by their black bark, black leaves, and shimmering fruit. The dria whose tree is a stargle tree is also equally noticeable with black hair that shimmers like the night sky, pale crystal eyes, and pale blue skin. The celestial magic they harbor affects their coloration much like it would for a celesi, one who has been blessed with celestial magic. The stargle dria are still able to change their form as they please, but they are limited on how they are able to change their coloration which leads to them often being believed to be shadow magic wielders and shadow marked fae, both of which are still considered ill omens.
