Nishikai Villages

In the jungles of Rasvata there are trees that are hundreds of feet tall and densely clustered together. The primary inhabitants of the jungles of Rasvata would be the race known as Nishikai. Nishikai are a people with feline ears and tails with a feline spirit companion of large size.

The huge trees make for a jungle with dozens of levels of danger no matter how high off the ground you are, but one of the safer places to be is up in the lush canopy of the trees. The Nishi themselves have made their homes towards the tops of these massive trees by weaving plant magic to shape outspurts of the tree trunks into platforms, houses, and bridges. Because of the method they use to build their towns, their buildings are alive as much as the tree that they grew from is.

Due to the “living” buildings, the Nishikai try their best not to bring harm to their homes and the surrounding area out of respect for the jungle they call home and because harming the jungle is disrespectful to their people's sacred guardians, Rasa and Vati. While the Nishikai do take excellent care of their houses, that does not prevent the dangers of the forest from reaching the houses. There are furious rain storms and large beasts that can tear apart the houses as if they were paper.

Whenever there is a building that is destroyed, the Nishikai that can commune with the trees step forward in order to heal the tree and repair the destroyed buildings. Since the buildings themselves are part of the tree, the tree itself can be greatly harmed if destroyed so the healers are extra attentive to the process to ensure the tree comes back to perfect health.

Another part of these villages that may come to study and are frequently repaired would be the farms the spiral around the trunk of the tree like a garden staircase. Since the jungle floor crawls with beasts, the crops would be trampled so the Nishikai had to build their farms in the trees with their homes.

I love the way they rebuild. Communicating with the trees to heal them and remake their homes is so respectful and a very vivid image. I like these feline people a lot :)

They are a rather peaceful tribe that has a special fighting style that revolves around incapacitating and opponent rather than killing them since they only have one law and thats to not kill one another, it helps with the harmony vibe
