Market Shibimi

A Shibimi is long-haired feline with smoky black fur, short horns on its head, and typically glowing orange eyes. It is perpetually surrounded in a screen of smoke and embers and they are naturally very warm. Their favorite places include warm inns, the fireplace in particular. Their homeland is the country Vulca and the primary place to find them is in the cities, particularly the bazaars. While there are a multitude of spices to be bought, there are also many local and imported fruits and meats that are out in the stalls.

It is not a surprise when a shibimi steals from a stall, but they also are not stopped from doing so. The reason why is because more than what a shibimi can steal from a stall, their favorite food is a Pufflo.

Small and fiery, a pufflo can get into many spots and is fearless when it comes to obtaining its favorite fruits. They are cute at first glance with their swishy tail, short fur, tiny twitchy nose, big round ears, and short whiskers, but they will defend whatever they see as their to their last breath and they are fully capable of doing so when they ignite their fur and can shoot small balls of fire at anyone who is near, as well as the stalls they are trying to sell their fruit from.

The only thing a pufflo will have second thoughts facing is a shibimi who will happily chase down and take a bite out of any pufflo it sees.

Because of this relationship, the stall keepers and vendors happily feed the shibimi in the area to keep the pufflo at bay since a fire breathing mouse will cause a lot more damage than a predominantly lazy cat. Shibimi are also a popular house pet because of their playfulness. Due to their warmth, Shibimi are also led to the eggs of some of the inhabitants to keep the eggs from getting too cold while the parent is away.
