Dria's Song
Before the dryads and the drus were slaughtered, many of them roamed free across the lands and would bless the grounds where the farmers wish to plant for their harvests. A Dria’s song is something revered by many as a something to be treasured and is possibly something only heard once in a lifetime. The Dria kneels on the grounds for three days and communes with the magic and nature as it ebbs and flows through the area. Once they have accumulated enough into one place, the Dria will sing to stimulate the magic and the soil. The soil itself will become very fertile and is highly likely to have a successful high yield of crops over the coming months. For kingdoms that had deep pockets, they would gather things that would please a Dria and try to hire one in order to bless the fields. Some would even go so far as trying to locate the homeland of the Dria in order to entice them to bless the lands.
A gift often prepared for the Dria is a beverage called Modai. It is an alcohol drink made from the nectar of flowers and is a favorite for Dria. One of the more expensive ones that only the most wealthy could get would be Sakura Modai made from the Sakura Forest in Solaria’s Rainosuke province. A single glass would be an entire month’s expenses even for a well off household and one would need at least a bottle for a proper gift.
In the centuries since the Dria were slaughtered, their existence is all but forgotten but some farmers will pour a small swig of modai at the entrance of their farm and sing a song as an old tradition to wish for a good harvest. Most likely a superstitious tradition, but some of the elders believe the Dria wake up from their deep slumber to the sweet scent of the modai and bless the lands as best they can.
