The Sea Owl

Moored most often at the stone piers of Golotha’s lower harbor, the Sea Owl has long been Dramond’s refuge and instrument. Its hull is of dark, weathered oak, burnished to near black by tar and salt, and lined below the waterline with copper that gleams faintly in lantern light. The ship’s proportions are lean, designed more for endurance than grace — yet its presence commands attention, like a hunting bird resting between flights.

In daylight, the Sea Owl appears merely practical: a vessel built for trade or transport, nothing more. But when dusk falls and the harbor torches reflect off the polished wood and brass, something else awakens in its lines — an intent, a will, perhaps echoing that of its captain.

Notable Features

The Hull:
Dark oak, reinforced and repeatedly tarred. Patterns in the grain are said to form faint sigils if seen by moonlight — a rumor the crew neither confirms nor denies.
The Nameplate:
The words SEA OWL appear on the starboard stern in dulled gold paint, the letters weathered but never retouched.
Captain’s Cabin:
Compact, orderly, and locked at all times. Dramond keeps no maps in sight; his navigation seems to rely on something less visible.
The Crew:
Quiet, loyal, and handpicked. None have served less than a year — and none speak of their service once ashore.
Location & Use   The Sea Owl is moored at the southern end of Golotha’s main quay, a position close enough to the warehouses for convenience, yet far enough to avoid scrutiny. It is said that even when Dramond is ashore, someone is always aboard — as if the ship refuses to be left alone.   Though technically a merchant vessel under Thardic registry, its holds rarely carry declared cargo. The crew load and unload by lamplight, without dock manifests, and with the quiet assurance of men who know exactly who to ignore.   Atmosphere   At night the Sea Owl seems part of the harbor itself — her hull catching the flicker of torchlight, her rigging whispering with the tide. To those who pass along the quay, she is a shadow among shadows, and yet impossible to overlook.
