Ru Kovar

The Stronghold of the Shimmersand Lords

Demographics

Dwarf (85%), Human (12%) Half-Elf (1%), Half-Orc (1%), Dragonborn (1%), All Others (<1%)

Government

Ru Kovar is ruled by a King, the dwarf lord Bede Grimnight, though an order of sorcerers and arcanists is the real power behind the throne. They follow the religious laws of the Holy Trynnien Empire while following many of their cultural traditions.

Defences

Ru Kovar is built into the Spine of Luminaria and surrounded by stone walls. 574 trained warriors serve in the capital's defense, and a militia of 7731 can be mustered in case of attack.

Industry & Trade

The dwarves of Ru Kovar scour the sands of the Shimmersand Wastes to recover lost relics of ages past. The forges churn out the finest steel in the land, and the jewelers polish precious gemstones for export.

Infrastructure

Ru Kovar is the 2nd oldest settlement in the known world, only Splintered Moon Keep is known to predate this grand dwarven city. The design is mostly accommodating for taller species, but the inner workings and cultural sites do not provide such accommodations. The city has gone through many revisions and upgrades to keep it up to date with the world around. Often bringing in outside contractors who have traveled the world you can see touches of other civilizations in the new additions.

After its rediscovery its proximity to the Shimmersand Wastes made Ru Kovar a favored destination for relic seekers and treasure hunters. After its rediscovery by Thutmouk Shatterhelm the dwarven people were able to repopulate and build the city back bigger and better. Once the expansion of the Holy Trynnien Empire swept the land the dwarves of Ru Kovar submitted to the empire to expand their trade network and continue their growth.
