Government

The Leader of Port Drakos is a member of the Draken Family and has been for the last 763 years when Lord Dional Draken (A Black Dragonborn) lead a revolution against a local tyrant who was extorting his subjects. Taxation is paid annually to the Ruktari Coalition to fund the defense of Rexium / Shilari and the war effort, taxes are only collected from Nobility and the City State Leaders.

Defences

The city is surrounded by stone palisades. 400 trained warriors serve in the city's defense, and a militia of 1,036 can be mustered in case of attack. The sheriff is Kithri Porridgepot, a Female Halfling.

Industry & Trade

Port Drakos is a large industrious port that deals with people of both the Ruktari Coalition and the Holy Trynnien Empire. Due to commanding trade with both peoples of the world, the port has thrived even during times of conflict. A general melting pot, people from all over are welcome here.

History

Once a small port city under the rule of a tyrant, the bustling port city has grown since The Draken Family, organized the fishermen to revolt against the ruler. The Draken Family has worked hard to grow the town into the largest port in the world.

Points of interest

  • The House of Flames: A grand timber and brick theatre, known for its classical sidhe tragedies.
  • An ancient abbey ruins, which appears restored upon the night of the new moon.
  • The ruins of Goccio Tower, the once stronghold of the former tyrant.
  • Birdsong Alley: A verdant alley between buildings. Though no birds are ever seen, it is often filled with gentle birdsong.

Tourism

As a coastal blended city, cultures from around the world mix here to create one of the most unique experiences know to Sentirum's inhabitants. Festivals of Color, and celebrations of the Spirits of the Land are commonplace and occur during the solstices. Some say one has not truly lived until they have danced in the streets of Port Drakos till the moon sinks into mountains and the sun is drawn from the ocean waters.

Geography

Located north of  Azcanatal's Blessing a river delta and south of the The Far Woods Port Drakos lives in the coastal praries of northeastern Ruktari lands.
