Charim Dun Arlect

The greatest Philosophical mind in the history of Sen

Who is the greatest philosopher of your world. Describe what they taught and how it changed the the way people react to the world.
Charim Dun Arlect was a member of Great House Dun in Kasil. He was a warrior poet who fought alongside Deltaer during the Liberation of the Pits. After Humanity gained its freedom from the Old Kingdom, he began to question the very foundation of his existence. After years of thinking and solitary meditation, he had found what he called the “Theory of the Ascension of the Conscious” what this theory presented seemed outlandish to just about everyone, even his closest friends. His theory is summarized in this excerpt from his publication “What if the gods are not simply all powerful, what if, by some motion of pure divinity or luck, that gods start as men, and perform a great ascension. What if, it is possible for anyone to become a god, to exist in a state of pure power, and that power is not given, but discovered, or at least given through discovery.” He found that   all gods were once mortals who walked among them. Through some divine internal realization or belief they ascend to godhood. He found this, but had very little idea of what this realization was or if there was any specific belief that would allow someone to ascend. What he did understand however, was that through an immense amount of mental effort, it is possible for anyone to gain godhood or a level of understanding comparable to it. He had two theories of results about this potential ascension. The first and more morbid is that someone who discovered this realization would be so destroyed by it that they would “Refuse to exist due to the knowledge they carry upon them” essentially there was a chance that anyone who tried to ascend would collapse and die because of their newfound belief. The other result is that whoever makes this attempt at ascension will rise beyond their own consciousness to become a living god. Despite this, Arlect never ascended. This was used against him in the arguments against his theory. He died just before the Gray War of natural causes and though his Theory of the Ascension of the Conscious is still disputed, his other works are studied by scholars and philosophers today.
