Nicholas Flamel

The inventor of the school of magic known today as Alchemy Nicholas Flamel was a living philosopher stone "gifted" by, The Source, to Dr. Regis Aquilla when he was desperately trying to hone the idea of transmutation magic into a more practical system. Flamel taught Aquilla how to properly form alchemic formula to the point where he desired to transmute himself into something similar to Flamel himself channeling the primordial power of The Source to further empower his alchemy. The cost of this self transmutation was the life of Aquilla's newborn daughter Abigal, though he did not know it at the time as The Source takes a cost different from person to person. In the aftermath of this transmutation, Flamel left Aquilla to explore the world and began to focus his own alchemic research into refining his own power hoping one day to return home and usurp The Source for dominion over all of reality.
Over the centuries Flamel served as the teacher for hundreds of alchemists whom he would later betray by using them as the foundation for a greater transmutation designed to invest even more arcane power into himself. This tradition came to a head when he ingratiated himself with Dr. Julius Draklor of the Haflling Empire and becoming part of The Evacuation Program designed to eliminate political undesirables in The Haflling Empire.
During the later years of The Great Grudge War, Flamel was destroyed by The Defender's of the Realm and his energies once again become one with The Source ending his plans for reality shifting usurpation.
