The Shadow War

In the Twelfth Age, ten ages after his imprisonment, Necrovar grew strong enough to break free from The Etherworld and return to Selaras. The rip in the magicthreads that separated his prison from the real world became known as The Rift. It stretched all across Selaras, but it was largest in the place where he had been physically imprisoned: Mount Arax, where once he reigned from his dark citadel.   Necrovar returned to Allentria with the intent of finishing the war he started ten ages ago. His objective: to conquer Selaras and take his place as the rightful ruler of all things.   In the year 607 of the Twelfth Age, Shivnath appeared to the human Keriya Soulstar (born Nameless) and enlisted her help. Shivnath tasked Keriya to find and face Necrovar before he made his bid for power. Keriya, who was young, inexperienced, and crippled without any magical abilities of her own, set out on her impossible task.   In exchange for Keriya's help, Shivnath implanted some of her own magic within Keriya's soul. This changed Keriya eternally and irrevocably. The change manifested itself physically in her eyes: where once they were pale gray, now they became a vibrant shade of purple. This was indicative of the presence of Shivnath's magic, and Keriya became known as the Dragon Speaker.   Against all odds, Keriya harnessed Shivnath's power several times over the course of her adventures in Allentria. She is determined to put an end to Necrovar once and for all, and plans to gather the forces of Allentria -- and Selaras -- against him.
