Reishi
The main component of Souls and all spiritual matter, Reishi makes up the spiritual bodies of races such as Hollows and Shinigami, as well as the two planes of existence, Hueco Mundo and Soul Society. These spirit particles are invisible to mortals, except for those like Quincy who are spiritually aware. While these particles can interact with normal matter and produce physical effects, it is to be noted that Reishi and atoms do not mix well.
Reishi is found in limited quantities in the World of the Living. Free spirit particles are often found in places that are close to nature. Quincy collect these particles to use for combat in the form of their Spirit Weapons. Reishi in the atmosphere can also be controlled, allowing certain races to gather it under their feet so they can stand on air.
Reishi-Based Techniques
Few techniques utilize Reishi, but those that do often deal with movement and the ability to speed up to impossible paces.Hirenkyaku
Hirenkyaku is the step method which Quincy use to travel quickly over short distances. This is the equivalent of the Shinigami's Shunpo or the Arrancar's Sonído. Also using Reishi, Quincy can create a platform under their feet which allows them to stand in midair.Shunpo
Shunpo is the step method that Shinigami use to travel quickly. This step method is extremely fast, allowing the user to travel faster than the eye can follow. Shunpo is considered the second fasted of the movement techniques behind the Quincy's Hirenkyaku.
