Right now I'm in working on the written and spoken language of the world this all takes place in so everything is in boring English words but someday fancy words made up by me will be replace those boring words.

- When joining together in marriage, only those who are to be joined should be without gloves. - Being bare handed is a venerable and intimate act. You are exposing the most important part of your soul to everyone. Doing so without reason gives many concern.- Hands are very expressive. There is a history of using sign language as a primary form of communication before spoken word became more popular. When talking most elves who has ancestry from "the winter caves" speak with their hands.- Gloves often show what type of work one does. Having many pairs for the same job is often a show of pride for the job and a sign of success in the line of work. Having many pairs for the entire day outside of when at work, home, in public, is a sign of wealth but not the only indicator.- When doing anything religious within the home hands should be bare to bare one's soul to the god or gods being prayed to or worshipped. This often comes in the form of taking gloves off during meals to give prayer. - Gloves taken off during meals is also a show of respect and thanks to those who made the meal and the work went into it. Those most often thanked are the chefs who cooked and the farmers to cultivated the ingredients. - The only time gloves are to be layered is when one is working or goes outside. The inner most layer is the layer that will be seen indoors outside of work. The outer most layer is either to protect against the cold when outside or is the work gloves of a chosen profession. Most of the time only two layers are worn at a time but in some instances people have chosen that extra protection against the cold is needed when working during the cold season.- The importance placed on the hands is rooted mostly in the most important role played during the nomadic era of the cave elves that emerged from "the winter caves". A guide of some sort. They were some of the first elves who learned the simple written language at the time and the one most knowledgeable about moving through the caves. Their hands were often painted with bioluminescent plant juice. When the "spoke" everyone looked to their hands. Markers of where the guides have been and what paths to take took the form of a glowing handprint on cave walls. Multiple prints meant that multiple guides thought the path was safe and good. - When the heir to the royal line ascend throne they must be bare handed. This is to bare their soul to the people they are to protect. When they swear to protect the people with bare hands it is to show that they will be dedicated to their role as leader and protector. - There are many spicy books about hands in the areas who follow these principals about hands. Books about hand spice are outside of these areas as well. They are just seen differently.
