Mardine Incursion

Military action

The world of Mardine is invaded by an ork fleet led by warlord BadMek StankEye. The Ice Warriors are crushed under the stomping feet of the BadMeks creations and the planetary governor quickly calls for aid from the Legio Verus. Grand Master Dantonio's answers the call with two manipuls of titan war engines. During the initial deployment around the capital the orks launched a surprise offensive and slay the Grand Master along with his host manipul. The defense of the city was in turn left to then Princeps Senioris Elizarii Brunichelli. Fighting unsupported for 2 days against the mechanical horrors of the BadMek, she held the frozen pass leading to Mardine's capital and killed dozens of the orks largest war machines. The defenders of Mardine and the remaining titan manipul reorganized and launch a devastating counteroffensive in the battle of the Rusted Glacier and ultimately leading to the BadMek's withdrawal and saving Mardine.
