Turro'ki

Queen Turro'ki (a.k.a. The War Princess)

To know [Turro'ki] is lying, because what makes that name so powerful, is the myth and flexibility of it. So what do I know then? Such need and power in a myth only comes from a truth steeped in confusion, and tragedy. ~ Stone-keeper Mars’dal, on the subject of the Turro’ki conspiracy.
Queen Turro'ki was born to royalty under the south-western side of The Amber Island kingdom. Her mother was lost at an early age from human pirates, but her father lived on as the king of the land during warring periods that started when he himself was just a hatchling. While she was mostly hearing of the battle across island territory, it all became integrated in the general Rekettan Civil war. Turro'ki began learning weapons martial arts from the age of fourteen. By seventeen, she was directly into the combat of war, mostly defensive, but bravely getting closer to fights between Queen Yus'mej's forces who would invade from across the coast of the more distant island, and those of a King V'monir only north-east of her kingdom.   She became an icon to her people, and was admired and respected as The War Princess. She was considered unusual and even 'ahead' of her time, as the island still held to values where the males were more of the fighter despite being more rare. Females by their numbers, were more the backbone of rich farming and agriculture of the island, but Turro'ki being of nobility in a warring period felt that her responsibility by birth was to protect such people. Her central goal in mind as conflict grew worse, was not defeating the island lords, but rather uniting them in a truce against mainland for their own independence. This however, only came too late...   In year 60pdp, The Amber Islands were among the last standing groups against Queen Kesi'iloquet's efforts. After Queen Yus'mej's surrender, a gift was sent out to suggest Kesi'iloquet would offer only peace to the kings of the island. The two kings still made plans, and started to finally begin a truce to stand in case the queen made it on shores with violence. However, traps were set off. The king was killed by his very gift of peace, and various assistants and soldiers were revealed to be informed ahead to be in Kesi's service. Paid pirates raided V'monir's side of things, and Turro'ki was forced into surrendering under agreement that she could still run the island if only as a puppet to serving Kesi'iloquet. At the point of a blade, Turro'ki was forced to surrender, and was made virtually a martyr of peace and prosperity. The stories of her bitter surrender, washed with muddled perception that she was actually a willing queen who only wanted the best for the empress and empire.   She sat on the Throne of Rum, as it would be called, and ruled with regret and distress that she couldn't have accomplished her goals. Rumors across many disoriented tales, suggest she seeded paths to a rebellion, but others suspect it is only confused talk mixed with such rumors of her spirit, and hatred for the empress. The branding secondary name part of 'ki has since become ingrained as a unisex adaption for various infants that are supposed to be strong.

Mental characteristics

Morality & Philosophy

Turro'ki is a paradox of peace and violence in her morals, which is perhaps fitting for the confused legacy she has left. She truly believes in the ability of cooperation of a sharp Rekettan mind, and wishes to be peaceful, relaxed, and thinks the power of drink and conversation can be stronger than the blade. However, she also has a slightly nationalistic complex, and is very defensive, anxious, and prone to blunt rhetoric and notions. She'll be the one to spark a verbal conflict where it could be avoided, and one that will boast the pride of herself or her allies rather than to appear humble. Questioning her integrity, or that of the island and its people, is virtually next to a level of a direct threat in her mind.
