The Empresses of the Reketta Empire
This article is still a MAJOR work-in-progress, and temporarily more for me than the reader. I am roughly using it to help get a skeleton framework of the empress generations, but what I can sort out as viable, I still want public as trivia. By the end, the idea is to have every empress named and dated to rule at some period with trivia about how they acted or looked.
For now, do please note that the marks between brackets are dates that the empress may have assumed a high form of power. This does not always account for the passing of the prior empress, just that the next assigned one was at least working in some potent form with their mother.
Reketta The First - "Kesi'iloquet" [60s pdp]
The "first bloom" empress was Reketta the first, known to be the empress that ended the Rekettan civil war and demolisher of its western human establishments. She was considered a strategic master-mind with some ill-intent, and crude methods that could sometimes seem sadistic, with wide spread rumor (and quiet admission) of a murdered mate.
Reketta The Second - "The Shadow" [30's pdp]
Reketta the second was an ambitious spirited reketta who stepped up to the crown with some tenacity, and crude behavior, but also a strong will to get things done with the idea of her mother's spirit watching as she suddenly ran a fragile and still new empire. She was thin, with frills, and small horns, and hazel eyes. She directly received some nuanced instructions and ideas from her mother, including things like what to expect from Turro'ki, ideas on taxes and construction, etc. She saw effects come into play akin to House Blade earning power. For the fact she was close to the grand original, she was remarked as "the shadow".
Reketta The Third - "Gold Tulip" [50s, first empress born in Scholar Period]
The third Reketta empress saw changes mostly in commerce, and is sometimes known as the 'golden tulip' for her time of overseeing market and trade between Feather, and the Minotaur trade itself, and additionally the employment of gas lighting. She had the shortest horns thus far in her lineage, and her mother's wider membranes almost becoming small frills. She was slightly thicker at the tail, and became a bit larger in her time though.
Reketta The Fourth - "The Cactus" [160s]
The fourth Reketta earned her name in mocking retrospect. She did little, and was raised more spoiled and somewhat bitter, and became quite large with partial thanks to elements like gas stoves and food exports based in her mother's thriving trade. Few reketta liked or respected her for much, but rather just endured her period, until she passed a bit sooner than expected of poor health. Until then, her reign was lacking enough that jurisdiction of duties often fell between quieter councils of Salt, Hunt, and Dragon about dispatching troubled elements, because they trust it would do little good to actually bring it up within the empress' domain. So like a cactus, she was still, hard to get close to, and retained a lot of 'water' in her weight.
Reketta The Fifth - "The barbed" [210s]
The fifth was a strict contrast, allegedly molded by way of hearing concerns over how her mother did. She was always lean to a near skeletal point, and somewhat lacking with compassion, and only truly stood out against other hatchlings because she was quick to snap to her mother's needs. She was mildly infamous for giving House Blade duties and authority for building, both scolding towards them, but also stealing opportunities from Feather that still hold awkward ties to the day. She had large black horns, with very bright blue large frills.
Reketta The Sixth - "The Gardener" [300s]
The sixth Reketta cast another slight whiplash effect. In awe over her mother's blue coloration, but finding it unfitting on her manners, The Gardener found her name from a place of luxury and want that favored demands of artistry, health, lust, and appearances. She was a hedonist with large on-claw demands that kept her well separated from mirroring her grandmother. Among her first commands, she even took a foreign colony dispute seriously and arranged commanding orders, but when not tasked with such issues, she was decisive more in fields of vanity, and managing the cultural and aesthetic integrity of the empire.
7th [390s]
8th [480s]
9th [600s]
10th [680s]
Rekettan the 11th - "Crimson Gold" [790s]
The Eleventh Reketta was most regarded for starting to escalate laws and refute small crimes. Incarcerations and crass tactics among enforcers ran high, and she was remarked to have started records and rewards for those with "extra" taxes and greater crime keep. It went into funding higher military standards, and future ambitions for Kayotian war that would bleed into her heir's age and goals. However her name was both revered and infamous, with the poverty class far more bitter about her, and more talk of rebellion.
Reketta The 12th - "War Walker" / "The Stone Heart" [880s]
The twelfth daughter was raised much in the light to finish what her mother was getting too old to do. She was to continue directing money onto war fronts, and ignited more conflicts than the past centuries and empresses. However she greatly ignored almost all local affairs and demands, sometimes considered outright clueless on how to even hold domestic policy. During her era she was called War Walker, however her faults were remembered enough so that even a post-imperial number of Reketta held onto her history lessons, and regarded her as the Stone Heart for being so motionless to help her own kind. She had small black horns rooting up, but a very rigid face full of small tiny spiked scales along the jawline.
Reketta The 13th - "Void Molt" [990s]
The thirteenth was a strange figure in Reketta history. She was placed to the throne on the same day that later had a riot not far from the palace. She hated the violence, and found it to be a distraction from her more personal spiritual interests. At some point, she slipped into a scheme of using a body double to cover for small regal work, while she went to the streets, and slept in quiet places where she could practice her dreaming range in other regions. Her aim became one with the idea to work on remedying the growing hate. While she planned to bring peace to the kingdom, the body double would come to try and claim the throne for herself, and so sparked a royal conflict that distracted other problems and allowed some shady individual groups to grow. It was never sure in the end if the rightful Reketta even won, thus sewing more distrust that would carry over onto the next empress. She was regarded as Void Molt for the word that whichever was the true one, was said to meditate into the void, but also disappear from the public identity in her final crisis.
Reketta The 14th - "The Dragon" [1'080s]
Following her mother's troubled place, she had to figure out how to balance herself against conspiracy and a quietly fractured empire. Yet she was also gifted with some of the kindness and compassion of her mother's reign, and was also working between shifts of holding other's concerns, and ensuring their welfare could fall in line with a healthy empire. Still she was faced with hard moments, and was seen more in those plights. Her eventual spars with shady agents, and strange events like the mad spirit Nebeki, would lead her to be considered close to that of a Dragon; Noble, powerful, but none are allowed to trust it as their idol. She was mostly petite with some hardiness, a fatter tail, black horns, and a little purple crest. The tip of her snout was pinker from the rest of her colors.
