Elizabeth Barrett - Beth

Beth is the mother of six children and the wife of Mr. Arthur Barrett Sr. She is prone to headaches and is generally a very quiet person. She is especially upset that although her family was wealthy at one time, her husband has badly mismanaged their funds, and aside from their physical assets, they have no money. They are house poor.   Arthur and Beth once had an intense romance, a love for the ages, but things have gone cold between them. Beth can hardly stand the sight of her husband and spends much of her time ill in her room. She is especially close to Julia who looks the most like her. They also have similar temperaments. Julia often looks after her mother and little John who is her nephew, Beth's grandson, who is passed of as Arthur and Beth's youngest son.   Elizabeth’s family are from the Caribbean islands and are not in regular contact with her parents. Previously they were quite happy about the match, believing Arthur to be of good standing in the community and staking out new holdings for his family in the Americas. They are blissfully unaware of his behavior.   Elizabeth Barrett previously Elizabeth Parchment is the eldest daughter of the Parchment family. Despite her young age, she was sent away to the United States to marry Arthur Barrett. She has not seen her family since that time. She has three siblings, with whom she was close. Only one is now living. Her family still reside in the islands and does reasonably well, due in large part to the payment from Arthur Barrett. Together, Arthur and Elizabeth have six children. They also claim their grandson, John, in an effort to hide their eldest son in distress indiscretion.    Arthur, the second has no intention of ending his relationship with Alana and has made it clear, that if his parents make any attempts to do so he has no problem with eloping with Alana and taking their son John leaving the Barrett family without an heir. This threat has helped them at bay from sending Alana away therefore she remains in the house as one of the servants. The bats are aware that Arthur and Alana still see each other although it is kept secret from the rest of the family. Beth considers this the greatest oversights of her greatest feelings as a mother‘s.   However, since her husband has little to do with the rearing of the children, she is without any support in her ideas for disciplining them. As long as Arthur remains unbothered and is allowed to gamble and drink at will, he makes no comment on anything else. He does allow his eldest son a regular allowance and does not seem bothered by the fact that this directly impacts the family's current financial standing.   Children of Arthur and Elizabeth Barrett: Arthur Barrett II Cora Barrett Julia Barrett Grace Barrett Emma Barrett Anna Barrett
