After their disparate adventures, the party returns to the Westhills to unpack what has transpired before they begin their long journey to the City of Brass.

Aestasea, in the interest of testing the waters with the black-market operation, slips a beneficial arrangement with Rolf, the fence for Thaleia and Lillyen's operations. From there she goes to Riverest, completes some shopping and preparations, and even improves the relations with the Lord Mayor of the town. From there, she returns the Jade Queen's statue to West Krasta, earning the favor of the town and the Queen in particular.   Khorgar departs for Istria and gets to work creating a Cloak of Displacement. Further, he finds a temple of Bane, and ponders the demonic powers that he has been developing.   Myrddin spent his days in his newly fertilized garden.   Thaleia, Lillyen and Sid arrive back at their Westhills base, with Sid immediately leaving for Riverest to clear his conscience after the monstrous actions. Thaelia and Lillyen then ask for Onyx's help in commissioning some arcane items for resale. From there, the duo interrogates Rolf on discrepancies in their ledger, which had secretly been done by Aestasea. He intends to set himself up with a comfortable salary and build a house not far from the base. Unfortunately, they blatantly low ball him to the extreme, and after some terse threats, Lillyen murders him before he's able to leave.   From here, the rest of the party slowly cycles their way in, culminating in an incredibly awkward dinner conversation. And with that, Thaleia decides she will depart, with her black-market empire in ruins with the reputation established as killing their employees.   And now, with a pit stop in Riverest to pick up Sid, their direction points to the Falling Cliff before heading north to find a path to Char itself.
