The Emberhold Players
The Emberhold Players are the oldest continuously operating group of performers in the land of Swynfaredia, performing various shows for well over half a century.
Structure
The Emberhold Players includes a few spell-caster and musicians, but the majority of the troupe are actors, so the musicians and mages provide stage effects for the actors.
The Emberhold Players run performances almost everywhere they go running lots of shows for even humble villages. They charge admission for these performances, but these performances are "loss leaders", mainly done to keep the performers busy and generate positive buzz. The Emberhold Players also use these village performances to test new material.
They only make about 80% of their operating costs back from performing for commoners. They make their profit from doing special performances for nobles and Nonagon officials requesting specific things. It's considered a strong flex for a noble hosting a festival or trade fair to book the Emberhold Players.
They are booked for a festival Count Llewellyn ap Selwyth is throwing for his sixteenth birthday.
Assets
The Emberhold Players have a large quantity of wagons and pack animals and a huge assortment of props and costumes.
They have a sizeable stash of emergency funds, but they aren't sure if their "rainy day fund" will hold out, the Emberhold Players know that times of war is bad for show business.
History
The founding members of the Emberhold Players were all from County of Emberhold in the southwest region of Swynfaredia.
Over the decades, the Emberhold Players performed in every corner of Fumaya and of Swynfaredia. They briefly dipped their toes in Border Baronies Region and Uskala, but had bad experiences and lost money from their expeditions there.
Only one of the founding member of the Emberhold Players is still alive, an elderly half-satyr who only does one performance a year with the troupe now. The troupe picked up new performers in many places and now only have one or two players with a direct tie to the County of Emberhold, but the name stuck because it has brand recognition.
The Emberhold Players do almost every form of play known to West Colassia dabbling in everything from Phidas Morality Plays to Jelly Spear Plays. They are most famous for their secular comedies.
Since hostilities between Fumaya and Swynfaredia broke out, they have opted to stay in Swynfaredia far from the front lines.
