Nesta was a farmer in land of Swynfaredia and is now land of Fumaya, ostensibly not a big change, but it was a big journey to get there.

Personal history
Nesta was a farmhand working in Klarica County, not denying his status as a spirit loa but not viewing it as especially important. Then one day he was captured Sir Broderick the Loa Talon Warrior and subjected to House Selwyth's cruel attempts to create super loa soldiers.
After his rescue at the hands of Kormatin and company, Nesta just wanted to start his life over. Loosely guided by an oracle hinting he should turn to King Henryk for help, at Kormatin's encouragement, King Henryk "voluntold" his vassal Count of South Lake to take him on as a farm hand, but that wasn't a big problem because the Count mentioned in passing he could use more manpower.
Over the course of his long journey to safety with the other loas, Nesta and Dyleth became romantically interested in each other, and she also got new work in the County of South Lake. Both are somewhat shy and awkward but they can open up to each other at least.
