Rangers are the law enforcement of nature. Their duty is that of an arbiter for areas that are outside authorities' jurisdiction or affairs that pertain primarily to matters of nature and monsters.
Rangers operate in druid circles under the supervision of archdruids and ranger captains. Ranger captains will work with the world leaders in their region, having a seat in many courts, their input on the world outside is considered invaluable to many.

Qualifications
To be qualified as a ranger, one must be a practicing druid of two years. This can be shorter or longer based on the requirements of the individual druid circles. During one's druidhood, one can opt into an exam to join the rangers. They then must pass an exam put on by the druid circle they wish to work for.
The exam is broken down to a verbal test on reciting natural law, an herbology test for common medicinal purposes, a zoological test to identify wildlife, and a combat test. Based on the region there will be additional tests such as a survivalist test for desert rangers, tool skill tests for locations that are difficult to traverse such as the cliffs of Falliliev, or a performance test for swimming or running.

Career Progression
Rangers start out as a druid to endure they have a strong religious or spiritual understanding of nature. During druidhood, they look to strengthen their bonds with nature and learn more about their environmental surroundings. If a druid is of good standing, they can be asked if they want to take the ranger test.
Once a ranger, the next progression is to become ranger captain. To become ranger captain, one must provide at least 5 years of service and provide a "document of profound discovery". Much like being a ranger, a ranger will be asked by a ranger captain to join their ranks. This will require a captain's trial which is different for each region.

Rangers job first and foremost us upholding the law of the land in areas where the law of man does not apply. Their full list of services is different based on the nations they are part of and the regions they inhabit.
They have an important saying in the approval of new settlements. They will go through the approval process in terms of planning and zoning of new settlements and villages. Rangers establish policies and rules for the new town to abide by during its transitionary state of growth. They also define parameters of maximum expansion within the area the town is founded.

Rangers for the most part are considered law enforcement. Rangers report to Ranger Captains, who often find a seat in royal affairs. Ranger captains work as advisors to the land. Courts and nobility may parlay with the favor of ranger captains to expand their territories or settlements.
Demographics
Half-fae and half-orcs are quite prevalent in the druid circles. As such, many are rangers. This provides a better lifestyle and greater purpose than what many half races were born and/or forced into.
Some of the "Wild" races also count for a large amount of the population. This is particularly so with the minotaurs who occupy most of the higher ranks. In most locations, druid circles are considered part of tauren society.
