Tome of Ages
A book that supposedly contains information about the creation of Scalespiral, rumored to be in Dolaris
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Based on the reports from various people who have claimed to have seen the tome during their lives, it is likely that there is some sort of obsfustication spell on the contents of the tome, which prevent readers from relaying what they have read, and likely prevents the tome from being duplicated by any magical or mundane means.
Similarly, even though the description of the tome is fairly general, and likely applies to a good number of books, everyone who has claimed that they saw it also claims that they immediately knew what it was as soon as they saw it, and knew they needed to keep it safe, so there are clearly powerful protective magics embedded in the tome.

The Tome of Ages is a large, encyclopedia sized book, with pages of varying ages and paper types. It has a cover made of deep blue leather that has clearly stood the test of time and weathered centuries. Several historical scribes have claimed, on their deathbeds, that that they restored portions of the book during their lives, but none have been able to credibly relay the information that was contained inside the book. The author is unknown, and though the book is only valuable for its historical curiosity, several scholars throughout the years have considered the discovery of the book to be their life’s quest.
