The Rolling Flats
A vast, expansive steppe of grasslands, full of fertile soil. A host of Humans make their home here, amongst many other races who have emigrated to this area over time. Many settlements dot the landscape, standing as a testament to the prosperity which a lasting unity of the mortal races can bring forth. Its temperatures and seasons are very kind to the relatively short-lived race, and make for ideal circumstances for a Human from any walk of life.
A few mountains are also present, serving as a natural border between the Rolling Flats and the Faewood, providing both of its inhabitants with ore. Humans have taken to breeding and holding livestock like cows, pigs, and chickens, but the Rolling Flats also make for perfect hunting grounds: fox, bear, coyote, bobcat, wolf and lynx pelts are commonly used in Human-made clothing, armor, and in the cases of bear pelts: rugs. But if a Human is hunting for the sake of food, they will will often prey on ducks, elk, spotted deer wild boars, pheasants, and ptarmigans. In the case of deer, they often use the pelts as decorations on clothes, the venison is used for food, and often use antlers as hunting trophies.
Geography
The Rolling Flats boasts an agreeable biome for the mortal races to live in, with temperatures ranging between -20C and 21 C (-40F and 70F respectively). The summers are warm but not sweltering, and its winters are cold but not freezing. While it's fields are vast expanses, there is always something to be seen: the Rolling Flats is more of an ironic name, as its fields do have hills dotting it. The mix of grasses in the area make it a sight to behold in the fall: buffalo grass and big bluestem grass are spread across the more evergreen june grass. The buffalo grass turns to a bronze-like lavender during this season, while the bluestem grass turns to a downright bronze, leading to a lovely, colourful view of the horizon. The evergreen creeping red thyme bushes add permanent dots of purple to this lovely landscape, leading to incredible sights during this season.
