Bringing up the bloodlines and heritage can be a touchy subject. As half-elves are not allowed to inherit any Elven titles or lands.
History
Living in the shadow of the two extremes you have the half-elves. Sired from the union of the short-lived humans and the long-lived elves. The half-elves mix the best qualities of the two. Most of the time half-elves will live among humans since they are treated as equals even if they have to watch friends and loved one's age while time scarcely touches them.
The ones that don't seem to fit in with either society will choose the lives of solitary or wandering looking for a place to call home. These outcasts will form bands and groups in the wilds mostly living in a piece within the nature of the world.
