Session 54

A Deal in the Making

  • Myrion is now bound by the deal he made with Darpon in the past to get rid of a leader of the Zals family inside the city of Tumbledoor.
  • The party makes their way north through the country of Ewhait to the city of casinos.
  • Upon arrival the party notices that the city is broken up into 4 region each owned and controlled by a certian family, The Zals being the peace keepers (BLUE being sadness), The Ironclads known for their aggressive playing style (RED being rage), The Pilywogs know for their cheating (Black being Lying ), and the Groodoms known for their more buisness model toward poker (White being truthfulness). Each region has corresponding mood-swinging effects upon the party and the residents inside.
  • The party also explores around the outside of the city, and they notice that there is a village that acts completely natural compared to the ones inside the city. The villagers seem not to care about money at all and instead serve food to those who visit. The party tries to visit with the elder, but he seems to be very off-putting, rambling about colored keys. The elder tells the party to go away and not to come back.
  • The party makes their way to the Zals region of the city and notices that the family is extremely nice and even gifts the newcomers with money to play poker games.
  • Knowing this, Myrion realizes that getting rid of the owner of the Zals is going to have to be something other than killing the man.

What it takes to get into a meeting.

  • While exploring the city, Wild notices that a buzzing noise is coming from the ground and sends Pantry the hedgehog to go down into the ground to investigate. He came back with a report multi colored bees.
  • The party tries to grab a meeting with the boss of the Zals, with some convincing from Muta and some logic by Lazarus, and the party was able to make their way into the main house. They explain to the Leader of the Zals what predicament they were in, and he explains that he can't because of the event happening in the center of the city.
  • The event was a meeting inside The Great Casino, a casino that all the other families follow. He explains that if it means them harm that he will give up his leadership after the event. To ensure his safety, the party sets out to get into the Great Casino, something that only happens through an invitation. He gifts the party with a blue key, saying that it is a token of a promise to keep his.

Collecting Invitations and keys

  • The party splits up through the city to gather invites from the different families, Muta and Myrion to the Polywogs, Lazarus and Izen to the Groodoms, and Wild and Alkinn to the Ironclads.
  • The Ironclads were a dwarf family relying on betting on fighting to get their money. As a way to get in with the family, Alkinn challenges the leader of the Ironclads ( Yor) to a match. The battle is hard, and eventually Yor can beat Alkinn and knock her out. As Alkinn wakes up from Wild and limps out of the Ironclad Casino, she is stopped by Yor, who seems to be entranced by Alkinn, asking her if she would accompany him to the Event that night. Your gifts, Alkinn, with a strange red key
  • The Polywogs seem to be a family of Goblins and were known for their fashion and lying. Muta and Myrion seemed to fit right in. They make their way to the Polywogs casino, and Muta earns her way up to the top table, being the best cheater of them all. Muta cheats her way through the game of poker, or more of a game of cheating. With the help of Myrion and winning the game, it catches the eye of the leader, and they are both invited to the Event. Leaving Myrion tells Muta he was able to snag a black key from the casino without being seen.
  • The Groodoms seem to be an uptight and noble family, and Lazarus and Izen come across an auction house selling very unique items. Lazarus stumbles across something disturbing, his notebook, but it seems to be burned and tattered. Confused Lazarus makes sure he is still in his backpack, and he is. Lazarus and Izen go into the auction and buy the notebook for a hefty fee. The notebook's writer seems to be Lazarus, but is going insane and says, "nothing is real, nothing is real, nothing is real" repeatedly, and inside the notes was a white key. The buy in the auction impresses the Groodoms so much that they invite Lazarus and Izen to the event playing out.

A realization and a cursed notebook

  • Lazarus makes the connection between himself and "his" tattered journal that he found. It must be from him, but some other form of him, or more of a different happenstance of him. Something with Darpon lingers in the back of his mind.
