After months of fruitless searching, King Valdra of the Underdark, God of Veangance, Balance, and the Natural Order, sends a party of adventurers on a mission to investigate certain suspicious events are occuring in the forest surrounding his ancient surface home. The truth was far worse than anyone imagined...   Investigation led to a small town in the region where they happened upon an injured old man claiming his town was attacked. The heroes leapt at the chance to aid him and he led them into the town, only to reveal his true identity: Crixus Morte, the God of Necromancy. He called forth his prize creation, an abomination borne from months of the most excruciating torture imaginable: Ladon, a Gold Dracolich.   Crixus vowed to exterminate all life in this world and replace it with the undead. The party was doomed and some were dying when Valdra himself appeared to face Crixus, but as the party was preparing to aid him or retreat, Crixus struck a potentially fatal blow to the god. With his last concious thought he transported the party to safety.
