War for Life
An epic battle between the forces of life and that of undeath with Crixus Morte, the God of Necromancy waged an unholy war upon all life. The whispers of war began with the First Kidnapping of Ladon, a Powerful Adult Gold Dragon. Adventurers were called together by King Valdra, god of veangance and balance and Ruler (advised by the his fellow members of the Council of Branches) out to rescue Ladon, which they did, but their success was vanishingly brief. Soon after Ladon was rescued Crixus appeared in his full might and
dragged the dragon into imprisonment deep below the earth. When the party was reassembled to rescue the dragon, they instead were led by mysterious magics to Heaven itself. After winning some fights against celestial guardians on the climb up the many leveled realm of The Creator, they were nearly overwhelmed before Valdra appeared in his full might and saved the party. He met with an emissary of Heaven, the angel Adam who led the armies of Heaven and Angelkind and came to an arrangement to investigate the threats rising against the world and dispatch any existentially dangerous entities that may be lurking in the dark.
Shortly after this Pact was struck, Crixus Morte revealed his full might as he declared open war upon Life itself and revealed Ladon as a dracolich, who he had tortured for months until the dragon agreed to be transformed.
The War was long and very costly. Crixus made a point of murdering almost the entire Council of Branches, with only Valdra surviving the war (having lost his wife the goddess of springtime and all his friends and nearly be killed himself). The War came to a close when Lord Crawford, after leading adventurers through Heaven and Hell, witnessing the death of the Destroyer, and defeating Ladon and Crixus' main horde, led the remaining adventurers to the distand Land of Longwisa, where Crixus was performing as ritual at the crossroads to corrupt all life in every realm into a state of undeath. In the final battle, Crawford, whose body breifly hosted his lord and master Valdra struck down Crixus. Valdra then blessed each adventurer with whatever boon they desired for saving the world. He then was met by The Creator, who having gathered the essence of every natural deity who had perished in the terrible war and empowered Valdra to become Valdraan, the God of Nature. He abdicated his position ruling the realm and the various Duchys devolved into chaos as their ruler vanished and Mount Valdranan erupted and clouded the world in shadow.
