The Molybdenum Tablet

A sentient (and temperamental) slab of a peculiar alloy, animated by a wildly complex web of enchantments. The Tablet displays on its face the name, guildleader, and stated purpose of each of the Recognized Guilds of Calum. How it obtains this information, how it updates itself, and how its information remains constantly, precisely correct, are all questions for its creator, whose identity is yet unknown.   The appearance of the tablet numbers among one of the most puzzling mysteries relating to the artifact. If reports from citizens are to be believed, one morning it was simply there, sitting unceremoniously in a plaza off Chalk Square. It is roughly twenty feet tall, sixty feet wide, and about a foot and a half thick, with uneven edges on its sides like it was snapped off of a larger piece of the metal. As far as the alchemists can tell, it is composed of pure Molybdenum, a metal alloy similar in composition to steel. It is the single largest chunk of the metal anyone has ever seen of it, and thus far, has proven impervious to any method of destroying or moving the Tablet. For many weeks after its appearance, the Tablet remained blank and featureless and utterly useless.   Allegedly, after a frustrated passerby hollered at it to "make itself useful", the Tablet began to inscribe itself with the information of the Recognized Guilds of the city, which previously was only available in official registrars from Guild Calum, and which were only updated every other Cycle.   Since then, the Tablet has become an incredibly useful resource, as well as a source of fascination and frustration for Calumites. The Tablet seems to have some level of sentience, and gets sulky and goes blank if harsh words are spoken about it in its presence. It seems to feed off of bits of metal, incorporating trace elements of metals before spitting out whatever it doesn't care for.   Will occasionally critique screenplays or give romantic advice. Our sources show it is excellent at both, and quite supportive.   CLICK HERE TO ADD AN IDEA FOR A GUILD TO THE MOLYBDENUM TABLET
It is the civic duty of all Calumites to keep the Tablet in good spirits. Please leave bits of metal in the tin. It likes copper and zinc in particular.
