Liestic Druids

In the elder age, when the world was unshaped and unnamed, spirits called Leshui ruled over all parts of life. They dwelt within the warm soil, the deep riverbed, and the coilsome lengths of the old greatwoods. At their head was Liest, Heiress of Making, Lady of the Deep True Water and child of the Division. Now Liest is no more, and the Leshui are either gone away or have gone to sleep within their myriad homes.   Nomadic, selfless, and tireless are the druids of Liest. Their goddess died to preserve the forests they have left behind, and they strive to honor her with every motion of their bodies. Liestic druids are first and foremost dedicated to the preservation and respect of life. This can sometimes, but not always, include pacifism and vegetarianism.   Their latest, and greatest, project of the is the revitalization of vast swaths of the Frontier. Withthe aid of Ishian and Yanic clerics, they were able to put many vagrant spirits to rest, heal many of the scars in the land, hoist water up from underground springs, and return life to the soil of the Nameless Nation.   The bulk of their number now dwells near Divide, where they act as teachers and

Structure

Little formal structure. They are lead by their eldest and most respected members, often elves and other long-lived races. These are simply referred to as "elders".

Culture

Liestics are, as they must be, pragmatic. Obtaining food is rarely an issue for those so in tune with the world's rhythms, but they still exist in a tenuous balance with other peoples. Bile rises in their mouths at the thought of living in a wooden or stone box, but they also aren't inclined to torch all signs of society. They wish for a better world, not a simpler one.   Many groups superficially similar to their own break their nails tearing down walls and despise the working of stone. They have mistaken an animal's strength for virtue. Liestics try to distance themselves from them, but it is not infrequent that one of their members, frustrated with their inability or unwillingness to confront society's evils, leaves their number to seek them out.
