The History of Saoirse

"Sure, you can bury your nose in history books, lad. Or you can go out there and be a part of what will be history someday."   -unknown teacher to unknown student
The History of Saoirse is divided into Verses. Verses are not always the same length of time. Events listed under each Verse are in chronological order. Verses are punctuated by world changing events. Each verse resets the year number. Verses are abbreviated with a "v" and then the verse number, for example Year 182 v3 would be the 182nd year of the Third Verse.

The First Verse

Also called the Age of Song, The First Verse is the first era of existence. Before this era nothing existed except for the Siren's Egg, at least according to the legends amd myth. The Age of Song is the era which the Siren created the Old Gods, along with many of today's races. The first Verse is abbreviated for dating as v1. The events of this era are disputed, and none can be proven as most are mythological events in Saoirsen cultures. The following events are said to have happened in the First Verse.

    The Siren Hatches
The Siren Creates The Sun and the Planets   Various races are made. The Goblins, Lycans, Halflings, Giants and Treants are the first races made by the Siren.   The Siren creates the twin Elf Gods, Modellia and Baxbrill. They become the Goddess of Storms and Life, and the God of Ice and Death respectively.   Modellia and Baxbrill create the High Elves and Sa'dealihell Elves.   The Siren creates Debthori, the Mountain Mother and Goddess of Earth. Debthori then carves the first hundred Dwarves and their king, Rorik Mountainson.

The Siren plants the two World Trees, one on the island of Napari and one in a great rainforest. The Napari Dryads appear from the seeds of the Napari World Tree, called the Emperor Tree.   Voddii and his Salt Lords are created to rule the oceans and seas. Lanari creates her son, Londhor, God of Bravery and the Sun.   Londhor brings Sunfire to Saoirse. Sunfire can infuse beings and things with divinty, possibly turning them into dieties.   According to Imperial myh, Londhor displays Sunfire's power by creating the two Dragon Gods, Odgen the Fire God, and Aska the Ash Mother. Dragonfolk mythology states that Odgen already existed and was born from the fires of the sun, making him a brother of Londhor. Odgen and Aska lay eggs which hatch into the first Dragons and dragonfolk.   The Siren creates Annor, God of Wind and Air, to be Londhor's companion. Annor's feathers created the first birdfolk of Saoirse. According to Birdfolk mythology, Annor was created as an equal to Londhor.   The Siren, satisfied with her creations and her children, left Saoirse and went back to sleep somewhere in the universe. She leaves her messenger, Diovolo.   Londhor creates humans from his own sunfire.   Ranir, God of Gates, builds the castles of Ranir's Rest on the Demonscoast (at the time called The Red Expanse), and Lockhall Keep in Silversheim.   Diovolo, messenger of the Siren, steals Sunfire from Londhor and gives it to the Elves and Dwarves, who had become jealous of the new attention given to the humans and dragons by the gods. They use Sunfire to become thier own gods.

The Second Verse

Also referred to as the Sunfire Crusades. This era was filled with individuals using Sunfire to ascend to godhood. Many gods and godesses rose, ascended and were destroyed during the Sunfire Crusades. Recording them all would be impossible. Included are the gods and godesses that still remain. The Second Verse is abbreviated v2. As with the First Verse, the events of the Second Verse are approximations based off of scholarly studies.       Voddii is killed, the first casualty of the Crusades. The worlds oceans and seas are thrown into turmoil for the next two-hundred years, known as the Century of Storms. Tisivali the Tydewalker swims to the bottom of the ocean, taking the mantle of God of Ocean and Sea and calming the waters.   The High Dwarves lose their ascestral holding to the conflict. The Diamond Hall has been lost since.   Hokokani takes his people to modern day Krytor to escape the crusades.   A large number of High Elves are banished to the Underdark for not fighting in the Crusades. They are given the name Drow.   Omes, God of Craft and Smithing, creates the First Mail for his lover, the Goddess of Balance Cothroma.   Cothroma is killed, her body turns into diamond. The High Dwarven mythology claim their Great Diamond is her body.   Omes creates the Godkiller Arrow.   The Orcish Gods arrive.   Zastriel pulls the burning sword from Odgen's side, according to Imperial Myth   Londhor chooses a champion to defeat the Orcish Gods. Ezirath the Sunspear locks Harcos on the moon of Prasidium.   The first Dwarven King, Rorik Mountainson is assassinated by Ichormug the Unclean. He was supposedly over 2000 years old.   Kortis Valka and the Glassing of the Ho'Loi.   The Ascension Treaty is signed, ending the Crusades. Diovolo is punished, chained to the planets core. Mortal races memories of the Crusades are blurred, and records are destoryed, shrouding the first two Verses and Saoirse's creation myth in mystery.
