Sapphire Hold

Towards the western reaches of Sanctuary lies the bastion of courage and strength that is the Sapphire Hold. Originally a plain stone and wood garrison for the local militia it was transformed overnight after one of the early Guard Captains, Scillia Bloomhart, gave her life to cover the retreat of a patrol she led against the Goblinoid tribes. After her death the walls of the garrison turned into hardened sapphire and her sword mysteriously was found within her quarters turned similarly from steel. Some say her spirit haunts the keep, others say it was the last divine miracle gifted by the gods to the refugees, and others say it was just a freak happenstance.   No matter the reason, her name is held in the highest regard among the town guard, and her sword is passed down from captain to captain, as both a powerful weapon and a reminder of their duty to the city.
