Manifolds Birth
General overview
The theme of creation is universally spread across all cultures of Samthô. While many peoples have secondary creation myths, working around later parts of the myth known as 'Manifolds Birth', the core of the narration and the first parts of it are seen as true and real by all inhabiting Samthô. This binds together all the peoples there are in the world as stemming from one common source, as being part of one creation. The core themes seen in the myth of Manifolds Birth are reflected in all cultures on all continents and in all cavetinents.
The core of the story
The basic principle and what follows
In the beginning there was only unity, a plenteous void. Within was one, the sense. One cannot make sense of the sense, as the sense is what brings forth all there is and all sense made of things. The unity of the beginning brought forth duality: one warm and one cold, one high and one low, one full and one empty, one black and one white, one male and one female, one edged and one round, one fast and one slow. They are auldo and algam.
These two combined, intermingled and mixed, not becoming one again, but five. It shows the rules of things: Either there are two extremes or there is a multitude. The purest multitude is that of five. The five elements making up the multitude are:
Shimmer, the bright and ephemeral one, that shows itself most clearly where sunlight hits the water or freshly dug up ore from the ground. Without substance, yet full of energy, that is shimmer, called ko.
Shimmer brings forth the second, water, which is called suimul. Where shimmer resides, in clouds shining and glistening in the sunlight or in the mountains deep and rife with ore, there water originates, fresh and clean, springing from the wells or falling from the sky.
Growth and greenery sprout from water as where there is none, no tree exists, nor a single blade of grass. Its name is sual, as the tree, for trees show most visibly the power of growth, coming from a seedling so small.
And while the green nourishes all living, it is also source and fuel for what brings death. Fire that is or liega, hot and burning and pulsating, at the same time giving light and warmth, leaving behind the last of the elements.
The last element is what bears all, giving foundation and ground. Thôji it's called, meaning earth, deepest and thickest in colour, holding the others, limiting and nourishing. Yet it cannot be alone, albeit appearing most essential, as all these five elements are purity of combining auldo and algam.
And in thôji again there is shimmer, where auldo is most strong, thus starting again the cycle of creation and depending.

But with creation there is also destruction as auldo cannot prevail over algam and vice versa.
Shimmer, ko, cuts wood and weed like sickle and axe. But sual, growth, also breaks open the earth, with seedlings and sprouts breaking free. Holding and stopping lakes and rivers, thôji, earth has strength over this element, yet suimul is stronger and overwhelming, when going against fire, liega, which stands no chance in its face. Liega again prevails over shimmer, diffusing the mists and melting the sharpest blades.
And these circles show, one creating, one destroying, show all the complexity of the world in a simple and most pure form, for all that exists is made up by these elements, grows through them and suffers them. And that is why everything exists, as everything is made up by these elements. And that is, what magic exists, as energy flows, collects and unloads everywhere throughout all creation. And that is why alchemy works, when those who understand the inner nature of the things harrow its powers and combine the right essences. And that is also, why we can bond with the beasts, as where there are two spirits, if their essences are in harmony, so can they be, even over the boundaries of species.
Opposites attract and birds of a feather flock together
Everything is in constant motion and there is birth and death, coming and going, forming and destruction all around. As auldo and algam are of a nature not allowing them to be stable without one another, so is the multitude of things. They mix and mingle in alliances of the similar, push each other away again, auldo draws in algam and algam auldo, as the unity consists of both and the sense brings them together most meaningful. And those aware enough may see parts of its workings, yet understand even only parts of what they see.
As there is neither perfection nor chaos, there is never only auldo or only algam and never both in equal parts. That is why there is always flow, as both push and pull each other and even within the smallest multitude each single element is an unequal mix of both parts of the duality.
Implications of this 'general myth'
The 'sense' as a basic principle is present in most religions and philosophies in Samthô. The idea of some underlieing reason or principle explains the all-connectedness of all of Samthô and the awareness of its truth allows Samthôs peoples to harness their worlds energies as effective as they do. While subsequent 'steps in creation' in each culture are different and depending on the cultural consensus of its people, the very origin of everything, the genesis of Samthô is told in a very similar way all across all the continents and races. Even the pantheon of deities, the origin of which lies closely after the universe in which Samthô lies originated, is similar, even equal across all cultures. The Joun and Luak have one particular form of the myth unique to their peoples, as they are the older generation of beings possessing the gift of reason, while the younger generation, Len and Men have a differing version, which includes the Joun and Luak in their unique ways.
The interpretation of what the myth says, depends on the people telling it, as does the culture deriving from the myth. This explains the huge diversity of what lies beyond the visible and superficial world. While some cultures believe in magic, others use alchemy and others again have no concrete or palpable mechanisms of harnessing the energies and properties on an individual basis, but rather commune with sense, auldo, algam and the elements in a more abstract or distanced way.
