Lomeos (Lom-ee-os)
Lomeos is a pale blue metal found principally in the Kingdom of Eyoit - and is almost unheard of outside the Kingdom, being both a state secret and strategic resource.
The Elosi have discovered that, when subjected to tension and pressure, a powerful charge builds up within the metal - this charge is ordinarily dangerous, causing fires, shooting lightening, or causing the metal itself to explode in fragments if overcharged.
However, careful experimentation has show that this lightening can be controlled, if Lomeos is connected to peblendum fashioned into wires. The lightening will flow through these wires carefully an slowly - allowing it to be utilised either as a weapon (to stun and incapacitate), or as a tool (e.g. fires can be started in the dampest wood as a survival aid).
Properties
Material Characteristics
When mined, Lomeos is a shiny pale-blue ore - sometimes mistaken for silver until seen in clear light. It occurs naturally in large deposits, frequently more than 1ft cubed, and must be carefully transported to the surface. The ore is always pure, though impurities and other metals can be found on the outside of deposits, as if forced out by an unseen charge or magnetism
Physical & Chemical Properties
Uncharged Lomeos is naturally very cold to the touch - regardless of weather (it is not a good heat conductor, contrary to other metals). Anything other than a chilly sensation is a warning theat the Lomeos has been charged by previous stress - it should be safely discharged by scrubbing with peblendum brushes, to avoid the potentially disastrous effects of overcharging.
Life & Expiration
No comprehensive studies have been done into the charge storage of Lomeos, but it is presently thought to be unlimited in duration - charged Lomeos has been successfully transported across the Kingdom of Eyoit, and used at its destination.

Interesting article. I wish you had linked to an article explaining peblendum!
