Mosquitoes
Because of the uniquely optimized design of mosquitoes for their purpose, the equivalent species is very similar.
The sajelos have evolved partially alongside mosquitoes, and as humans find snakes to be the archetypal evil, mosquitoes are the most horrifying threat to young sajelos children. Mosquitoes violate the basic rules of hunting; they can find you even while you are camouflaged, silent, and even masking most of your smell. This is especially dangerous when camouflage is the most critical skill for a species that lurks in the undergrowth.
One of the greater results of this fear is the idea of the Kuhlobel. This is a being of pure horror to the sajelos.
It has a blank featureless face, except for four pale curved horns and an enlarged mosquito mouth. Two flat, semitransparent, veiny insect wings extend from the shoulder-blades down to behind the knees. This monster also maintains six mosquito legs which may also serve as arms. Most representations of this creature present the chest as humanoid, wearing a tuxedo, but this is debated in mythologies.
