Xira Aren, The Final Sting

The titles of the Lords, Ladies and Otherwise of the Feywilds are myriad and the interlinking between them is a labyrinthine nightmare to mortal minds. The title of the Final Sting, currently held by the Lady Xira Aren, is one of the more unusual amongst the Fey. All of their titles reflect the cyclical nature of their world. The crowns of the seasons wax and wane in their endless cycle. The cloak of midnight and the scepter of the sun likewise transition one from the other and back again. Even the barrow of once and future, a symbol of death in the Feywild, still holds the promise or return and awakening. The final sting represents finality in a realm where it doesn't exist and for this reason Xira Aren is feared by all of the court. She is as alien to them as they are to the mortal realm and she has only allowed that mystique to grow over the centuries

Like all of the Fey her appearance is fluid and mercurial but her favoured form is of a statuesque woman with a humanoid appearance but with the glittering refractive jewel like eyes of an insect set into her eyes roughly the size of apples. She is also famed for never wearing the same gown twice and every time she appears at a court event is visual spectacle made possible only by the magical glamour of the Fey. Other forms include a massive queen bee, an undulating swarm of hornets and even a glistening rapier of black carapace like her stinger.

Mortal scholars, Sages and acolytes of certain deities often try and make a study of her and any warlocks she might choose to empower. A general consensus seems to be that the receipt of the title was as much punishment as anything but that Xira has learned to make the most of it. There is a secondary theory that there is a design she is spinning into shape with the slow and subtle hand that only an archfey can manage, but this is only conjecture.
