Skyshore
Demographics
Government
The village is run by a mayor that is subject to election. No one in the city really cares about elections, though, so the mayor has been reelected for a consecutive 17 years.
Defences
Skyshore is built atop an island that rises sharply out of the ocean. The cliffs soar for about thirty feet before coming to rest on green grass. This provides a natural defense. Despite this fact, there are still walls surrounding the village and a town guard of thirty patrolling them.
Due to the act that it is impossible to trade on an island with no shore, the mayors of old decided to dig a shaft ta would reach down to the shoreline. This shaft is heavily guarded.
Industry & Trade
The trade out of Skyshore is minimal, but a trade is established. The nearest settlement is over twenty miles away, however, so they only come twice a year. Prominent trade goods include metal and salt.
Infrastructure
The houses of Skyshore are quite simple. Usually one story and connected to a farm, the houses are mostly constructed out of wood and straw. A major exception would be the town's Inn & Tavern, the Prancing Demon, which is constructed out of cobblestones.
Assets
The village is mostly agrarian, and most of their livelihoods spring from this fact. The mayor ordered a stockpile to be kept up in case of emergency, which has been used twice, both times during a Shadowspawn attack.
Guilds and Factions
The Monastery of the Silver Moon plays a huge role in the running of Skyshore. They provide defense, and receive food and provisions for the year.
Tourism
If someone is touring Skyshore, it is only to see the Monastery.
