Marbles of Mittah
The Marbles of Mittah are unusually large almost perfectly spherical boulders that lie along a stretch of the northwestern coast of the Duchy of Iphlias. Believed in ancient times to be the marbles of the Kapari trickster goddess Mittah, the Marbles are now understood to be mudstone concretions revealed from their host strata as the Iphigean coast has slowly eroded.
In addition to their status as geological curiosities, they are also famed for having once been used as a weapon. After a long battle against separatist lords in which she had depleted all of her ammunition and was at risk of being overrun, a desperate and furious Saint Shprintza ov Kliatos hefted one of the Marbles and threw it. The boulder crushed the cockpit of the separatist leader’s Full Plate, slaying him instantly. Awed by her fighting spirit and shocked by the loss of their commander, the enemy forces broke and fled. Ever since, Saint Shprintza has been known as Shprintza Stonethrower. The Marble itself has been marked with a shrine, the remnants of the cockpit and its pilot still buried in the sands beneath.
