Falls of Cygnus
The Falls of Cygnus are a complex system of hundreds of waterfalls that dramatically cascade in a stair step fashion across a series of flat, natural terraces. The largest waterfall system on Vesarca, the Falls - surrounded by lush forest and broken by spectacular jutting, green-topped cliffs - are considered one of the planet’s most awe-inspiring wonders and are visited by millions each year. Much to the distaste of naturalists, Piautos, the current Duke of Noime, has constructed an immense pleasure-palace overlooking the falls.
In modern times, the falls bear the name of Cygnus XI, an explorer much like his descendant Cepheus III, but before the unification the falls were known to the local Letzi people as the Spill of Chaborz. According to legend, Chaborz, the god of agriculture, had become drunk and dropped his great cup from the heavens. The impact shattered the once level land, forming the terraces, and the contents spilled out, forming the first waterfalls. Much like the Chimneys of Cepheus, it is widely considered an affront to Cygnus XI to use the old name.
