Utaku Hinata embodies the spirit of the Unicorn in ways that most do not.
When she is called upon to ride into battle, she has no hesitation.
When her enemies are at her mercy, she always shows compassion.
When reporting to her superiors, she's never told a lie or falsified information, even when doing so would have been advantageous for her.
When her niece, Devika Utaku , was dishonored and disowned, she was the one to take her in and continue training the woman in the way of the Unicorn. While the Lion and the Unicorn have long been warring over disputed territory, Hinata has invested her time in ensuring the next generation grows to exemplify the grace of the Unicorn as she has. Despite her many accomplishments, Hinata lives in the shadow of her sister, though has never voiced resentment for it.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Hinata carries herself with a serenity that most samurai lack. While this level-headedness may have served her best in the courts of Rokugan, she found her passions afield and her imposing stature reflects a life of battle and stable-mastery. Standing a full foot taller than most Rokugani, Hinata doesn't seem to mind the advantage this brings her both on and off the battlefield. While most Unicorn that have her confidence and years of experience tend to be more passionate in their mannerisms, Hinata is soft-spoken and gentle, often giving others room to speak before she does.
