Bringer of Calamity

When you see a pillar of red light rise into the clouds, you know to prepare yourself, for the Bringer of Calamity has called once more. - Kraytos of The Opened Mind

When the sun is nearing complete blackness, this figure appears and sends a bright scarlet red light into the air, piercing the clouds, signaling for the Calamity to begin. People only have a month to prepare themselves for the Calamity, while this guy will stay there with the light the whole time, killing anyone getting too close. After a month, the light will finally stop, as a large dark shadow comes over Rygat, cast by the largest dragon ever known. It's appearance brings catastrophic disasters everywhere, and magic going terribly wild and unconstrollable. It last for a day, as the dragon stays near the sun the whole time. During this time, the blackness slowly subtract on the sun, growing smaller and smaller to it's barely visible again, before the dragon leaves once more. When it's over, a new Age will start, signifying they survived another Calamity. And the Bringer of Calamity will be gone as well, with no one knowing where.
