Stand Race
A stand is a spirit like entity that has supernatural powers, and is controlled by a stand user. They have no defined standard for anatomy, appearance, or powers. These traits seem to manifest, according to traits of the stand user. Most Stands do, however, carry these traits: They cannot be seen by non-stand users, can become incorporeal at will, can only be harmed by other Stands, or special magic/technology, and any damage dealt to the Stand is also shared to the user and vice versa. Most Stand's also have a name deriving from music, be it Songs, Musicians, albums, or Compositions. A Stands main powers can generally be categorized as such; most stands have some, if not all of these, a primary, secondary, and tertiary or passive power.
Stand Types
While some Stands are quite unique, most stands can be put into two categories, with six sub categories as well. A good number of stands tend to be multiple types.Close Range Stand
Most Stands of this type show great physical capabilities, as well as powerful abilities that make them dangerous at close range. the standard range for this type is about 3 meters(2 squares) away. While they can reach farther, the further a stand gets away from its user, the weaker it gets(A close range Stand gets -5 to all rolls for every square it travels further than its max range). some do have abilities with a further range, but it is usually a weak ability in comparison with its other traits.Long Range Stand
These types of Stands usually show little physical capacity, but make up for it with unique abilities and range. The range and power vary wildly in this category, but there are some common marks of this type. Long range generally means "out of sight" or further than 30 meters(10 squares). Their abilities tend to be less immediately powerful, gathering damage over time. However, sometimes they are quite powerful, but this might mean the range is shorter, or that it requires some prerequisite to activate.Hive Stand
Any Stand that is comprised of more than one entity, is considered a hive Stand. Hive Stands usually work in a group to use their power. If used by individuals, rather than the group, it will be much weaker, or not work at all. The link shared between a Stand user and the Stand, is divided here. Meaning, that they take less damage from their stands being hurt or killed, and can have multiple Stands die without showing a scratch. Users don't feel any effects until at least half of the Stands have been hurt or killed. (take the remaining 50% and use their health for the linked healthbar. Rules for same space occupation do not apply to this Stand unless it is large enough, or there are enough of them occupying the same space.)Automatic Stand
This type of stand can be left with a simple task for extended periods of time, or its power can be left to activate on its own. The Stand and power tend to be as stronger on these types, more so than others. However, the power and Stand cannot be controlled at extensively, leaving it vulnerable to having its weaknesses exploited easily. These Stand's link to their user is not always complete, meaning if you damage or kill the stand, it may only affect part of the user, or only damage them lightly. in some instances, they my not even notice it was killed at all. (Depending on the Stand, have the linked health damage only a percentage of the users health, or even a specific body part.)Wearable Stand
A Stand that envelops the user in some way, is considered a wearable stand. Most of these types of Stands tend to be close range stands, and either partially or completely cover the user. (When worn, you gain all the physical stats of your Stand, in addition to same space occupation rules, as well as any abilities.)Object Stand
Stands that take the form of an object, rather than resembling the form of a creature, are object stands. Most manifest as weapons with special properties. others take the form of more mundane objects to better fulfill their purpose. Some of this type of stand can be seen by non-stand users, as it is a physical object which has materialized according to its user's will or its own ability. (rules for same space occupation do not apply to this stand unless it is large enough.)Sentient Stand
A stand that can think for itself and communicate in someway is a sentient Stand. These stands, while being able to think and feel, will still take orders, but depending on the stand, might not perform every task given to it without hesitation. It is still a great boon to have one though, as it will often be helpful, and able to do more tasks by itself than a typical stand, but not as much as a automatic Stand. Some sentient Stands can even exist without a stand user, whether they were able to exist after the users death, or simply left without the user even knowing he had one in the first place. This means, some sentient Stands are capable of disobeying orders, and rarely, may even turn on and kill the user if the user is too weak. However, weak users tend to have sentient Stands more so than others. Perhaps it is meant to be a guiding voice for them.Act Stand
This stand is unique. Instead of growing slowly over time in a natural evolution, this Stand will metamorphisize in distinct "Acts". Most act Stands will start at act 0, a stage at which it is helpless. Soon after, it will grow to act 1, and will be able to use use its abilities. It is usually very weak, but has high versatility. Some time later, it will grow to act 2. This stage usually has a good balance of power and utility. After some time, and with great effort, it will eventually reach act 3. This stage has by far the most power, but the least utility. All forms can be freely swapped between when called forth(upon summon, chose which act you would like to summon. this can only be done during summon, if you want a new act, the stand must be dismissed and resummoned. You may also perform a Act Swap. if your Stand can be dismissed, as a bonus action, you can swap its current act by quickly dismissing it and resummoning it.). (this effects the leveling of the stand, so that it acquires these new forms at levels 3 and 5.)Stand Rules
Same Space Occupation
If a Stand occupies the same space as the user, a willing target, or an object, the stand can use its action to defend that target and takes all attacks directed at the target onto itself and gains an extra (dex mod) to its AC. Applies to area of effect damage as well. Target being defended has disadvantage on attack rolls, and -5 to all offensive DC checks, while being defended.Stand Stats
Are a rating of a stand's general features. there are six in total, they include: Power(strength, or destructive potential), Speed(attack, movement speed), Range(stand range, ability range), Durability(Constitution, AC), Precision(Dexterity, accuracy), Potential(used to gauge the stand's ability to grow) these will be determined by a point buy: Min E, Max A, point increases given, 12.Remove these ads.
