Sun Shield

A small coastal town along the northwest coast of the Shurima Continent. Lying beyond the reach of Rakkor tribes of Targon and claimed territories of the Shuriman empire, Sun Shield is generally quiet location that serves as a place to stop for individuals travelling on foot or by sea to journey to Mount Targon or bypass the desert.

Size

Sun Shield is a small, but well functioning town. There are an estimated 1900 residents that call this area their home. Adding the local farms and outliers brings the town closer to around 2300 residents.

Government

Gerontocracy. Sun Shield is run by a council of elders from several longstanding families of the area. While smaller matters may be settled with one or two present, they generally come together once a month to go over larger matters and discuss the future of the town.

Commerce

Sun Shield is the last bastion of "civilization" before the territories of the Rakkor tribes begin. As a last stop, most supplies are easily available and there are numerous inns and taverns to stop by and rest. There are a few options for supplies from blacksmiths to leatherworkers to general stores to other local businesses.
  While most mundane equipment is available, more magical means will have to be acquired elsewhere. The town's lone alchemist relies on passing merchants to have the materials to make their potions and typically makes them as requested.

Defenses

The town maintains a small garrison that serves as the town watch. There isn't very much threat of invasion, but the occasional crime or dangerous creature, whether coming down from the mountains or Makara Hunters rising from the seas, keep the watch busy.
