The Rumoring Calendar
The Rumoring Year begins on the Spring Equinox and is composed of 13 months of 29 days. The months are still, in many rural and wild places, reckoned by their traditional moon names. Cities in the Rumorring Region have used the standardized month names for centuries, although the year count of the calendar has been reset with the onset of the Fifth Era.
The lunar cycle of the primary moon, Celeste, averages 29 days, although the elliptical orbit of that moon creates variations in these cycles. Two other satellites orbit Gheas: Halcyon, a small, populated forest moon; and Urda, a barren, ice-encrusted egg-shaped rock that tumbles end-over-end in an erratic orbit warped by the pull of Celeste and the push of Halcyon.
