The Rumoring Region is known for its advanced, technological applications of arcane magic. Its name, Rumoring, derives from the ancient social practices of sharing information, news, and technologies among the "ring" of cities that define its social and political boundaries.
Niook, Stormlight City
Niook is a towering, ancient city built upon a foundation of immense quartz and amethyst crystals. Powered by lightning harvested from the seasonal storms that sweep over the city, Niook is a megalopolis of electric light and modern conveniences, as well as a center of arts and culture in the Rumoring Region. Niook is divided into over a dozen strata, each of which is in many ways its own separate city.
