The Peoples of Iosterra

Iosterra is a broad a diverse world, where ancestry does not determine culture. In practical terms, this means that only the mechanics and broad backgrounds and concepts are presented here. The cultures of these groups will vary by region. For example, the Smoke Orcs of the Tichiloc mountains are the technological and philosophical equals of their human Intec neighbours with mighty cities and temples of their own, while the Smoke Orcs of the Great Savannah live in nomadic, largely neotlithic tribes.   Each line of ancestry will be presented with both its own feats, perks, flaws, and notes, as well as those for a person who has an ancestor from that lineage but who has mixed ancestry. For reasons of simplicity, characters are limited to two ancestral lines (if desired). Players may select their parents, use one template as the "dominant one", and then add the mixed ancestry template form their other parent. Characters with only one ancestral line receive some extra points at character creation to act as a balance.
