Beings arrived from some unknown planes to the material world. Destruction amongst the other realms forced the beings to flee to Ier-nor. Some called the beings Demons, some called them Angels, but amongst them beings of many races from many realms flooded the material world. Historians assume that the population increased 15-20 times during the arrival.

Remaining from the cataclysm is an ever roiling storm that covers most of the worlds face, the Maelstrom. Originally the continent was called Ier-nor, but after the Cataclysm the survivors renamed the remaining land to Rucinia (roughly translated from the ancient tongue to 'The Shattered Land')

Discovery of the Elixir
Discovery, ScientificA Kenku Alchemist by the name of Stamper discovered an elixir that would change the face of the world. The Elixir would allow people to come back from the brink of death. Drinking the elixir would prevent someone from succumbing to disease or harm, but drinking one would change them forever. Sentient undead, or other unknown side effects came to light. Once changed the survivors would need to continually consume the elixir to prevent further side effect, or loss of one's mind.

Establishing of Siniath
FoundingWhile the wars of the dark ages had mostly subsided the world was still divided. This started to change when Vyladir I took power of one of the larger remaining clans. He established his stronghold and named it Siniath. Where many locales still erected walls, and kept outsiders at bay, Vyladir I build his stronghold and eventual city with open doors in mind. He welcomed everyone with open arms, and provided elixir for those who needed it for free. The city of Siniath became a beacon of peace among the populace of Rucinia.

Vyladir II
Life, MilestoneVyladir II completed his fathers life goal, establishing peace amongst the people of Rucinia, and establishing the singular state. He also established the Council of Seven creating the first governing body that would run the country.

Vyladir III
The first ruler in the official time of peace. Worked to build more infrastructure across the land and tried to connect more people and settlements to the greater populace. He helped the Magic Guild (now known as The Science Guild ) flourish and used their vast resources to create a network of teleportation circles to expedite travel from most locations. Toward the end of his life worked at establishing the Sciences and incorporating them into the Magic Guild.

Vyladir IV
Life, MilestoneAt 99 years old, she has taken her place at the council at a much older age than her predecessors (Most around the age of 50 or younger). Her first change was to officially change The Magic Guild to be The Science Guild. While only ruling for the past 13 years, she has really pushed into trying to explore the Maelstrom.
