Yetisburg
The Western Archipelago is more hospitable, and home to the main settlement of the region, Yetisburg (which shares its name with the island it’s located on), along with numerous fishing villages and small towns. The island’s names are debated, and natives to the region generally just refer to their towns and villages when describing their homes. The islands are home to diverse and mixed populations of different races and quite peaceful, with the government military providing security for trade throughout the region.
Yetisburg is the capital city of the Southern Reach, with its rulers beholden only to the continental government and The Council of Seven. It is a walled port city on the largest island of the eastern archipelago, the main center of trade and travel for around the southern end of the continent, and home to one of the main naval detachments of the military. The city is the most peaceful, safest place within the Southern Reach with inhabitants from many races living together and next to no crime. The government representative is known locally as the Yarl, and is unsurprisingly a Yeti named Borg 'the Clawed' or his given name Borg Claws. Borg Claws is known as a fair and just leader, but has no hesitation to use force to combat any threat to the region, and for harshly punishing anyone who threatens the peace. Capital punishment is the norm for any crimes deemed to endanger the public or for any violent offences. Besides the port authorities and longshore teams, a major organization in the town is the Winged Word Service, a group of Arakocra and other winged beings who hire themselves out as messengers between the islands and aerial scouts for ships passing through the region. The architecture of Yetisburg is a mix of thick stone curtain walls and military/police buildings, while most civilian structures are brick on the ground levels with white and black wooden tavern like walls above, and angled, shingled roofs. There are two ports, one civilian and one military; the civilian port has a typical breakwater and a large harbour, while the military port has a complete sea wall guarding its entry point.
